11 AM: guest presentation by Tom Spooner – Psychogeography: A Means to an End, or an End in Itself? followed by Q&A
1 PM: lunch break
2 PM: afternoon working session: groups of 4-5 students individually develop a method of mapping.
Tuesday 5th November – RECORD
10 AM: individual working session in the studio, the seminar room or while walking – up to you!
3 PM: Walk led by Jaspar Joseph-Lester and Simon King: Parallel Urbanisms: Los Angeles in Whitechapel – Meeting point: Whitechapel Gallery
5 PM: Participants in groups walking around their chosen areas recording, gathering material in the form of field notes and digital documentation e.g. still and moving image.
Wednesday 6th November – TRANSLATE
10 AM: seminar room LT3 guest presentation by Katharina Siegel – A Concept of Translation – Q&A and participants presenting material gathered and recorded.
12 AM: Sound Sensory Experience: unleash feelings through hearing – Adalberto Lonardi
1 PM: lunch break
2 PM: individual work development continuing during the afternoon
Thursday 7th November – CREATE
AM and PM seminar room LT3
– Participants will work collaboratively with the RCA graphic designer José Garcia to edit their contributions to the final publication.
– Editing & printing final publication.
Friday 8th November – PRESENT
4 PM: seminar room LT3 – Distribution of the publications, which will act as the final outcome from the week’s workshop. (Each participant will receive a copy of their publication).
5 PM: presentation: Each group will present their work and publications from the week.
6 PM: drinks at the ART BAR
The Workshop’s home base will be the seminar room LT3, on the ground floor of Darwin Building – behind the gallery space facing the inner garden.
