We invite you to join us for a virtual walk of 2.4 kilometers along the main avenue where demonstrations have been taking place in Santiago de Chile since October 2019. It is a walk back in time, recorded by hundreds of photographs which were captured on 23 November, 2019 between 7:10-10:18 a.m. It is a journey that begins at the epicenter of the protests called ‘Dignity Square’ due to the outcry for dignity and then proceeds along the southern sidewalk of the emblematic central axis of the city and ends outside the government palace; the place where all the demands are expected to be heard. Through this drift, people from all over the world can experience walking through those streets and fix their memory on a particular moment in the history of Chile. Thus, collecting all those messages tattooed on the walls as an echo of social demands.

Carola Ureta Marín is a Designer and Master in Cultural Management specializing in editorial and graphic projects related to cultural development. She carries out research in design, contributing to the development of reflections on the patrimonial rescue of the Chilean Graphics, Memory Archives and Human Rights. Creator of the project The City as Text www.laciudadcomotexto.cl and researcher in the national graphic archive www.disenonacional.cl She is co-author of the book Luis Fernando Rojas: Obra Gráfica 1875-1942 (Best Edition 2015) and has participated in international congresses on History and Design Studies: Taipei (2016), Medellín and Barcelona (2018); Guayaquil (2020); New York (2021). Currently, she is part of the curatorial team of the London Design Biennale 2021, representing the Chilean pavilion entitled Tectonic Resonances from the South: From the user-centered design to the planet-oriented design.
